Adventure Trips and Equipment Classes

Ever wanted to try out rock climbing but did not want to buy all the gear?  Do you have the equipment but have no idea how to use it?

Out 'N About Outfitters is offering scheduled, as well as by appointment trips.  Also, we are offering classes on how to use vertical and rock climbing equipment.

Caving Trips are by appointment only and require a change of clothes.

Scheduled climbing trips are every Tuesday if enough people sign up by Sunday.  They vary in difficulty based on what people come and their skill level.  We will top rope as well as climb sport routes.  All gear is provided.

Classes are offered anytime during store hours and good weather ( as they are outside classes )  These are hands on classes and you should have comfortable clothing on.  Some classes require you to have your own gear, call for more information.

Description:

Climbing Trip* ------- We will go over the gear and then climb various sport routes, both top-roping and on lead.

Caving Trip* ------- The entire cave can be walked ( no crawling involved).

Caving Trip Plus* ------ Same as the "cave trip" but with an extended section of crawling and climbing.

Rappelling Trip ------- We will go over the gear and then drop down several pitches using various devices.

Belaying Class -------- Teaches you how to put on a harness and safely belay someone climbing and rappelling.

Rappelling Class ------ Teaches you how to put on a harness, rig an anchor, rappel down the rope with various devices, and belay.

Sport Climbing Class ------- Teaches you how to put on a harness, use quickdraws to protect the climb, how to belay someone leading, and how to fall correctly.

Vertical Class ------- Teaches you how to put on the harness, how to ascend the rope, descend the rope, and change over between the two; using various techniques.

*11/2 hour drive each way ( Transportation not Provided )

Rules and Requirements for Adventure Trips:

• All ages welcome ( Minors must be accompanied by an adult ).
• Trips must be scheduled at least 7 days in advance.
• Cancellations must be made by 2 days in advance.
• Payments must be made by 2 days in advance.
• Rain Checks will be allowed and rescheduled.
• Classes must be scheduled at least 1 day in advance
